MWL: We have husbands, significant others, and sons and they need to also step into their masculine roles with authority wisdom, and strength. As part of entering into our innate power as a woman, we need to learn to "help" build our men for the Now, for the Future, and for the purpose of together creating peace in our world. Part of helping to "build" the inner love in our men, we need to embrace their need for acceptance, love, and nurture from their significant other, mother, sister, etc.
Through social norms and gender stereotypes, men are often 'expected' to be the breadwinner, strong, dominant, and in control.
Invalidating statements like, "man up", or "don't be such a girl" or "suck it up and get over it" are used on men who don't follow typical "male behavior" and can make it harder for men to reach out for help and open up.
No wonder men often suppress their emotions.
And as you can imagine, suppressing emotions leads to mental health issues.
💔 The rate of suicide is highest in middle-aged white men
💔 Male deaths represent 79% of all US suicides
💔 Men are 3.5 times more likely to die by suicide in the US
For anyone that needs to hear it today!!
👉 Asking for help is not weak
👉 You’re allowed to hurt
👉 You don’t need to carry everything alone
👉 It’s OKAY to show more than just anger - Emotions are not just for females
👉 You don’t always have to “be strong”
